The police have passed the details of their investigation into Ben Stokes’ ABH case to the Crown Prosecution Service and are seeking advice about possible charges.

Stokes was left out of England’s Ashes touring squad after he was involved in an altercation outside of a Bristol nightclub in September which led to him being arrested on suspicion of actual bodily harm. He was released under investigation and is currently in New Zealand visiting family.
England fans had hoped that Stokes would be cleared of any wrongdoings and as such, join up with the squad in Perth for the Third Test but this latest development does not bode well for the all-rounder as it is likely to be a while before any decisions about possible charges are made.
