Essex sign Zampa for T20 Blast
Essex have completed the signing of Australian leg-spinner Adam Zampa for this summers T20 Blast campaign as reported by BBC Sport.
He played a part in his country’s squad that was demolished by England in the recent ODI series 4-1.
He has played in 13 T20s for his country taking 17 wickets in the process at an average of 15.17.
His reputation around world cricket is increasing and is becoming one of the most sought after bowlers in cricket on the biggest stage.
He joins fellow Australian Peter Siddle in signing for Essex as the pair both signed their contracts this week.
He played in this year’s Big Bash, featuring for the Melbourne Stars, but could not prevent a bottom of the table finish.
He is in the current Australia T20 squad for the triangular series against England and New Zealand.
Essex coach Anthony McGrath spoke about the addition of the youngster saying:
“He has the ability to spin the ball both ways and that mystery in the middle overs is something that we have been missing from our T20 side,”
