Steve Smith returns home from IPL
Australia captain Steve Smith has returned home from India after seeking treatment for a wrist injury, according to BBC Sport.
Smith has been playing in the Indian Premier League for one of the new franchises, Rising Pune Supergiants. He has been in terrific form after scoring his maiden T20 century off just 77 balls against the Gujarat Lions in his last match.
Smith scored 270 runs in 8 matches for the outfit which was unable to help them climb up the IPL rankings. The Supergiants have won just two of their games so far and are going into the final stages before the finals.
This is another blow for the Supergiants who have already lost Kevin Pietersen, Proteas T20 captain Faf Du Plessis and fellow Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh to injury.
Their next game is on the 5th May against the Delhi Daredevils and are hoping Usman Khawaja will be available for the trip to the Indian capital.
