Dog stops play!
We’ve all heard of rain or bad light putting a halt to the action in cricket matches, but ‘dog stops play’ isn’t something we come across very often!
However, that’s exactly what happened at the end of the middle session on Day One of the Second Test between India and England.
With India 210-2 and Cheteshwar Pujara on strike in 97 not out, a stray dog ran onto the outfield at Visakhapatnam.
Two members of the ground staff managed to chase the dog off but it soon ran back on to the pitch and, well, left a little present that needed to be cleaned up!
With the delay ticking the clock over the allocated tea time, the umpires decided to take the players off the field midway through Stuart Broad’s over.
England were happy to get off the field after a difficult session in which Virat Kohli and Pujara smashed them around.
