Day three of England’s warm up game against the Cricket Australia XI was one that highlighted an issue that fans of the side have worried about as the tourists’ batting line-up failed to deliver.

However, by the end of play, England were in complete control of the game as Cricket Australia XI finished the day on 70/7, having been 27/5 at one stage.

That means they still need 198 runs to win, whilst England need to take the remaining three wickets to claim victory.

Conditions did suit the bowlers but England’s batting wasn’t good enough to keep the Australian XI quicks at bay as they finished their innings on 207/9 – a lead of 277, with the injured Jake Ball not being able to bat.

However, England’s bowlers used the helpful conditions very, very well. They took plenty of wickets with the new ball and they’ll look to come back tomorrow to finish the CA XI off.
