James Anderson out for six weeks with shoulder problem
According to Sky Sports, England fast bowler James Anderson is set to be ruled out for up to six weeks with a shoulder problem.
Anderson, who took five wickets in England’s recent victory over Pakistan which saw them draw the two match series 1-1, is set to face a race against time in order to be fit for England’s Test series against India.
England are set to take on India in a T20 and ODI series before the Test series, with Anderson only representing his country in the five day format.
The 35-year-old, who is England’s all time Test wicket taker with 540 dismissals, is currently the number two ranked Test bowler in the world.
England captain Joe Root and coach Trevor Bayliss may decide to rest the star opening bowler if the reports are true, with the first Test set to get underway on August 1st, just over seven weeks away.
