Suspended David Warner is set to be involved in the upcoming ODI series between England and Australia, on the commentary team, CricTracker report.

Warner, who played a part in Australia’s ball-tampering scandal along with Steve Smith and Cameron Bancroft, is set to be working for Australia’s Channel Nine network and is set to join up with the broadcasting team for the second match of the series which takes place in Cardiff.

The 31-year-old opening batsman and former Australia vice-captain was handed a 12-month suspension by Cricket Australia for his role in the scandal, however, he is set to take part in the Global T20 Canada which gets underway at the end of June.

Talking to the media, Channel Nine’s director of sport Tom Malone was delighted at the prospect of Warner joining the commentary team.

Dave is the best one-day and T20 batsman of the past decade so he’s perfectly placed to join our coverage for the UK series. People have tried to paint Dave as the villain in all this, but he’s been hurting as much as the others.

Australia have already played two warm-up matches against Middlesex and Sussex and were victorious in both as they prepare for their fist tour since South Africa.
