Michael Carberry set to sue Leicestershire
Former England batsman Michael Carberry is believed to be considering legal action against Leicestershire after being relieved of his position as captain for his new side, cricket.com.au report.
Carberry, who has appeared in six Tests and seven limited-overs matches for England, was relieved of his captaincy duties last month after a poor start to the season.
Leicestershire issued a statement on the club’s website following a one-day thrashing against Nottinghamshire, admitting that the former England batsman had been dropped as captain following an investigation.
The opener was set to continue to play for the team during the one-day and four-day competitions, however, a board member of the club advised Carberry not to take part in the limited overs fixture against Derbyshire.
It is thought that Carberry is set to take legal action against the club, as he had ‘no prior warning’ he was about to lose the captaincy, with his representatives already beginning discussions with Leicestershire.
