England name T20 squad as both Curran brothers included for first time
Brothers Sam and Tom Curran are set to make history for England after both being named in the England T20 squad for the upcoming series against India and Australia, according to Espncricinfo.
Both have played for England in the past, but never on the same occasion and will be the first brothers to play together since Ben and Adam Hollioake appeared alongside each other back in 1999.
Experienced all-rounders Ben Stokes and Chris Woakes both miss out, meaning that the Currans have a strong chance of appearing in the series.
Sam Billings, Dawid Malan, James Vince and Liam Dawson have all been excluded despite featuring in the winter’s T20 series in Australia and New Zealand.
Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow and Moeen Ali all come back for the series after earning a rest in the tri-series down under.
England T20 Squad:
