A cricket world record has been broken by Northen Districts duo Brett Hampton and Joe Carter, as reported on the NZ Herald.
The New Zealand international batsmen scored an incredible 43 runs from one over in a Ford Trophy fixture.
The previous record for most runs in an over came from Zimbabwe’s Elton Chigumbura, who scored 39 runs from an over in 2013.
The over consisted of six sixes, two no balls, one four and one single as young Central District’s bowler Willen Ludick was given an over to forget.

Unfortunately for Hampton, he missed out on his maiden one-day century by five runs but Carter brought up the 100 comfortably.
