India to wear away jersey in selected World Cup matches
The most awaited cricketing tournament is about to begin.
With just a few days to go, all the teams are preparing got the tournament with various warm-up matches.
India is undoubtedly one of the favourites for the tournament and will be eyeing to claim their fourth World Cup trophy over the summer.
All the teams have unveiled their new kits for the tournament, but as per the latest schedule by ICC, they have planned a home and away jersey concept just like football with some teams requiring to have a new jersey for the away matches.
India along with England, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan are wearing shades of blue, but with England being the hosts, all the other teams will have to wear a different coloured jersey when they lock horns with the hosts.
India’s jersey for away matches is yet to be released, where orange will dominate on the sleeves and at the back, however, the front will have a dark shade of blue.
As England are hosting the tournament, they will have the luxury to wear their home jersey throughout.
India will be seen wearing their new kit against the hosts and one more time when they face Afghanistan.
They have the freedom to wear their home jersey against Sri Lanka as India has been named home side for that match.
Team India will be wearing their new kit on 22 June and 30 June respectively against Afghanistan and England.
Also, other teams like Pakistan, Bangladesh, South Africa also have green colour dominated jerseys so these sides will also have to look for another alternative in some games.
Only Australia, West Indies, and New Zealand remain unaffected with the recent decision of ICC owing to their distinct coloured jerseys.
These teams will be seen wearing the same jersey throughout the tournament.
ICC is yet to make an official announcement regarding the situation.
