  • Sai Sudharsan scores 100 off 58 but GT finish on 205 for 3 after slow final overs
  • RCB complete clinical 5-wicket chase with 7 balls to spare in high scoring thriller

Royal Challengers Bengaluru produced a commanding chase under lights at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, riding on fluent half centuries from Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal to overcome Gujarat Titans in a high scoring encounter.

The home side sealed a five wicket victory with 7 balls to spare, chasing down 206 after Gujarat posted 205 for 3 in 20 overs, rendering Sai Sudharsan’s composed 100 off 58 balls a footnote in an otherwise dominant performance.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru 206 for 5 (Kohli 81, Padikkal 55, Rashid 2-49) beat Gujarat Titans 205 for 3 (Sai Sudharsan 100, Gill 32, Bhuvneshwar 1-31) by five wickets. View the full scorecard here.

Sudharsan Anchors but GT Fall Short of Late Surge

Gujarat Titans, asked to bat first by RCB captain Rajat Patidar, began cautiously on a surface that initially offered some resistance.

Sudharsan anchored the innings with patience before gradually shifting gears, crafting a well paced 100 from 58 deliveries. His innings featured calculated strokeplay rather than outright power, and while he held firm through the middle overs, Gujarat managed just 35 runs in the final 4 overs to close on 205 for 3.

While Sudharsan dictated terms early, his opening partner Shubman Gill found himself short of opportunities. The pair added 128 runs in 12.4 overs, with Gill contributing 32 off 24 balls, but the lack of late acceleration left the total slightly underwhelming for a venue known for chasing friendly conditions.

Kohli Half Century Seals 5-Wicket Win in Commanding Chase

The reply was defined by authority and intent. Kohli, dropped on 0, made Gujarat pay with a sparkling 81 off 44 balls, combining timing with placement.

Padikkal matched him for fluency, striking 55 off just 27 balls. Their 115 run stand for the second wicket came in just 9.5 overs and shifted momentum decisively in Bengaluru’s favour.

A brief wobble late in the innings saw a couple of quick wickets fall, yet the required rate never climbed out of reach. RCB completed the chase at 206 for 5 in 18.5 overs, underlining both depth and composure in their batting unit.

RCB Continue Momentum as GT Slump to Fourth Defeat

For Gujarat Titans, the defeat marks a fourth setback this season and raises further questions about their finishing strength. Sudharsan’s milestone innings, while technically sound and historically significant, ultimately lacked the late surge needed to tilt the contest. Bengaluru, meanwhile, will draw confidence from a polished chase that blended experience, tempo and control.
