Rain swept across the country as forecast, bringing play to a halt. However, there was some action before that rain came, and we’ll start at Northamptonshire.
Northamptonshire v Worcestershire
Northamptonshire began the day on 40-0, aiming to close in on Worcestershire’s 306. At 92-2, that target may have looked out of reach, but Ricardo Vasconcelos had other ideas, making 115. Saif Zaib provided strong support, contributing 75 alongside him.
Northamptonshire ended the day on 366-5, with James Sales on 44* and George Bartlett on 35*, looking to extend their lead of 60 in the morning. Tom Taylor (2-60) and Beyers Swanepoel (2-70) were the pick of the bowlers, with Ethan Brookes taking 1-23.

Kent v Derbyshire
Rain brought an early end to play with the match finely poised. Derbyshire resumed on 24-0, looking to chase down Kent’s 352, but only Luis Reece made a significant impact with 84. Martin Andersson added 37 and Wayne Madsen 35, the next highest scores, as Derbyshire were bowled out for 304, leaving them 48 runs short.
Keith Dudgeon led the bowling effort with 4-78, while Matt Milnes took 3-87. Joey Evison, Jaskaran Singh and Ekansh Singh each chipped in with a wicket.
Kent then began their second innings, but rain brought an early end to the day’s play with the score at 38-2, a lead of 86. Rory Haydon has taken both wickets so far, returning figures of 2-15.

Middlesex v Durham
The rain brought an end to play at Lords, as it did across the country, with Durham on 135-1.
MIddlesex started the day on 272-6, with Ryan Higgins on 57 and Zafar Gohar yet to score. Gohar went on to get 56, as he and Higgins put on 125 for the seventh wicket. Ryan Higgins fell for 131, as Middlesex were bowled out for 430.
Ben Raine took 5-58, the best of the bowling for Durham. Matthew Potts and Kasey Aldridge took two apiece, and Luke Robinson took the other wicket.
Durham lost their only wicket on 19, with Alex Lees out for 12. Emilio Gay (75*) and Ben McKinney (46*) have put on 116 for the second wicket so far, as they ended the day on 135-1, behind by 295 runs.
