Rajasthan Royals (RR) have announced that their home match against Gujarat Titans (GT) on May 9 at Sawai Mansingh Stadium will be the franchise’s ‘Pink Promise Match’ for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, according to a press release.
Led by the Royal Rajasthan Foundation (RRF), the initiative is now in its third year and aims to create long term social impact through cricket.
The ‘Pink Promise Match’ is a key part of the Royals’ community initiatives. The Royals will wear its signature all pink kit to highlight its commitment to women led change.
As part of Rajasthan’s women led development efforts, every six hit during the GT vs RR match will help provide solar powered lighting to six homes. RR will also be aiming for a win to strengthen their chances of finishing in the top four. The team heads into the game after facing defeat against the Delhi Capitals in the last fixture.
When RR faced Royal Challengers Bengaluru during the 2024 IPL season, the side led by Sanju Samson wore specially made jerseys honouring the women who are sponsored by the Royal Rajasthan Foundation.
What is Pink Promise?
This year, the franchise will continue the program in a similar manner. The special jersey for this season also carries a unique story, featuring the names of women supported by the Royal Rajasthan Foundation on the all pink kit. The design reflects the campaign’s central message, “Aurat Hai Toh Bharat Hai.”
So far, the initiative has helped provide solar power to 780 homes, improving access to renewable energy in underserved communities and building on the momentum of previous seasons.
Women from the Sambhar region who received training through RRF programs have played a key role in the installation, maintenance, and long term sustainability of the solar systems.
