How the day unfolded
Pakistan started the day needing a massive 437 runs to win and tie the series. The day didn’t start great though as first Abdullah Fazal (6) and then Azan Awais (21) were out with the score on 41. Babar Azam and Shan Masood settled things down for a little while, reaching lunch at 101-2.
As the score reached 133-2, Azam feathered a legside ball from Taijul Islam to Litton Das for 47. That started a mini collapse as Pakistan soon found themselves 162-5, as Saud Shakeel (6) and captain Shan Masood (71) were removed before tea. Again another partnership settled the ship for Pakistan. This time it was Salman Agha and Mohammad Rizwan, who took Pakistan to tea with the score on 200-5.
The pair of Agha and Rizwan added 96 runs after tea. That was until Salman Agha was out for 71, ending a 134 run partnership. Pakistan still needed 141 required to win. Pakistan ended the day on 316-7, with Mohammad Rizwan looking to see his side home on 75*. Sajid Khan is his partner, who has 8*.
The first session on the final day will be exciting to watch as both sides will still think they can win.
