Women’s T20 World Cup team preview – West Indies
  • Broke Australia’s dominance in 2016 to win the trophy
  • Have only reached the semi-finals twice since then
  • Ranked sixth in the world

The West Indies women’s side have appeared in every World T20 tournament since 2009. They won the trophy by beating Australia by 8 wickets in 2016, interrupting Australia’s hold on the title.

They have only reached the semi-final twice since then, and didn’t get out of the group stage in the other two tournaments.

Squad List

Captained by the experienced Hayley Matthews, there is plenty of experience in the squad. Players like Deandra Dottin and Stafanie Taylor, they will be calling on that experience to go far.

Prediction

West Indies have plenty of experience in their squad, which could be enough to go all the way. However, being in the same group as hosts England and current Champions New Zealand, it will not be easy to get out of the group. I can see them just missing out on the semi-finals.
