  • Captain Athapaththu has played in every T20 World Cup

Sri Lanka are the last team to announce their T20 World Cup squad for this year’s event. The 15-woman squad is led by seasoned campaigner Chamari Athapaththu, who has played in every World Cup since 2009. They play the hosts England in the opening game of the tournament.

Squad List

There are eight players making their T20 World Cup debut in this tournament, along with experienced players like Hasini Perera, Harshitha Samarawickrama and Nilakshika Silva to aid skipper Athapaththu. However, there is no place for leading wicket taker Inoka Ranaweera. One of those making their T20 World Cup debut is 17-year-old wrist-spinner Shashini Gimhani, who is ambidextrous. She has already taken six wickets in her seven T20 matches.
