Colin Munro Leads LA Knight Riders Past San Francisco Unicorns In MLC Win

Colin Munro finished unbeaten on 64 as Los Angeles Knight Riders beat San Francisco Unicorns by seven wickets in a rain-shortened Major League Cricket match at Grand Prairie Stadium.

The Knight Riders were set 151 in 14 overs and reached 154 for three with two balls to spare, giving them an early lift in the 2026 MLC table. Munro’s control of the chase was the decisive thread, while Andre Fletcher’s 34 gave LAKR the platform before the middle order closed the game.

San Francisco had made 150 for seven after the match was shortened by rain. Dwaine Pretorius top-scored with 58 and Matthew Short added 30, but the Unicorns could not turn that total into scoreboard pressure once Munro settled at the crease, according to ESPNcricinfo’s match report.

Munro Gives Knight Riders Early MLC Momentum

The result matters because LAKR are trying to build quickly in a short league stage where net run rate and early wins can shape the playoff race. A composed chase, led by an experienced T20 opener, gives the Knight Riders more than two points: it gives them a clear template.

For San Francisco, the frustration is obvious. They had runs on the board despite the reduced innings, but Munro’s unbeaten hand stripped away the margin for error and left the Unicorns searching for a response in their next outing.
