Sky Double-Header Gives Blast A Trent Bridge Spotlight

Sky Sports has pushed Trent Bridge to the front of the Vitality Blast window, with Friday’s double-header carrying both women’s and men’s competition weight.

The ECB confirmed its televised Blast schedule for 3-9 July, with The Blaze v Surrey Women on Sky Sports Cricket from 2.30pm before Notts Outlaws host Lancashire Lightning on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Cricket at 6.30pm.

Why Trent Bridge now has the cleanest Blast platform

That scheduling matters because the Nottingham double-header gives the women’s fixture a clear lead-in rather than treating it as an undercard. Trent Bridge’s ticketing page also lists the same two-game package, underlining how counties are selling joined-up T20 matchdays rather than split audiences.

For Lancashire, the evening match adds another sharp away test in a tight run. The county’s own fixture list places the trip to Notts between Derbyshire away and a home return against Derbyshire, making Saqib Mahmood and the Lightning attack central to how they manage momentum.

ReadCricket recently assessed the wider T20 Blast form picture, and this broadcast slot now gives the competition another prime-time measurement point.

The timing also keeps the Blast visible while England’s international calendar and the Women’s T20 World Cup final dominate the wider cricket agenda. For a domestic competition fighting for attention, that broadcast placement is valuable inventory.
