Gloucestershire Surrey TV Slot Gives Blast A Bristol Edge

Gloucestershire’s Saturday-night meeting with Surrey has been handed a sharper national frame after the ECB confirmed the Bristol fixture as this week’s standalone men’s Vitality Blast broadcast on Sky Sports Cricket.

The ECB’s broadcast guide lists Gloucestershire Men v Surrey Men for 7.00pm on Saturday 4 July, placing it between Friday’s Trent Bridge double-header and next Wednesday’s Kia Oval double-header.

Two Second-Placed Sides Get The Spotlight

The timing matters because this is not filler television. Surrey’s own match preview says the Three Feathers have won five of their eight matches and sit second in the South Group, while Gloucestershire are also second in the Central and West Group with the same five-from-eight record.

That turns the Bristol game into a useful pressure test for Jack Taylor’s side as well as a cross-group opportunity for Surrey, whose squad is strengthened by Sean Abbott returning in place of Matt Fisher.

ReadCricket has already tracked the tournament’s television push through the Trent Bridge double-header. Bristol now gives the Blast another clean showcase: two contenders, one prime channel, and a table-shaping game with Finals Day relevance attached.

For Gloucestershire, it is also a chance to put their 2024 title pedigree back in front of a wider audience. Surrey, meanwhile, arrive with enough depth to make this a useful marker before the South Group run-in tightens.
