- Hinge takes 4 wickets on debut
- SRH beat RR by 57 runs
- Royals collapse after early wickets
Sunrisers Hyderabad delivered a commanding performance to halt Rajasthan Royals’ winning surge, powered by a remarkable debut from Praful Hinge and a clinical all-round display at home.
Riding on a fluent 91 from Ishan Kishan, Hyderabad posted a daunting 216 for 6 before dismantling the Royals for 159 to seal a comprehensive 57-run victory. While Kishan’s innings set the platform, the night ultimately belonged to two newcomers who turned the contest on its head with the ball.
Sunrisers Hyderabad 216 for 6 (Ishan Kishan 91, Heinrich Klaasen 40, Jofra Archer 2 for 37) beat Rajasthan Royals 159 (Donovan Ferreira 69, Ravindra Jadeja 45, Sakib Hussain 4 for 24, Praful Hinge 4 for 34) by 57 runs.

A debut for the ages
Praful Hinge announced himself in unforgettable fashion, producing a spell that will be spoken about for years. The 24-year-old from Vidarbha struck three times in his very first over, a feat never before achieved in the history of the league.
Unfazed by the occasion, Hinge wasted no time making an impact. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi fell first ball, edging a mistimed pull behind. Dhruv Jurel followed immediately after, undone by a delivery that cut back sharply. To cap a dream start, Lhuan-dre Pretorius picked out the fielder at long leg, leaving Rajasthan in complete disarray within minutes.
It was a spell that combined control, intent and a fearless approach, instantly shifting momentum in Hyderabad’s favour.
Early collapse seals the contest
If Hinge set the tone, fellow debutant Sakib Hussain ensured there was no way back for Rajasthan. Operating from the other end, he struck early to remove Yashasvi Jaiswal, compounding the damage.
The Royals’ top order crumbled under relentless pressure, slipping to 5 for 4 and then 9 for 5 in a collapse that effectively decided the outcome. Between them, Hinge and Sakib shared eight wickets, a stunning return that underlined Hyderabad’s bold selection calls.
Sakib continued to impress through the innings, using clever variations to claim four wickets. His late strikes, including back-to-back dismissals of Jofra Archer and Ravi Bishnoi, put the finishing touches on a memorable night.
Resistance in vain
Amid the wreckage, Donovan Ferreira and Ravindra Jadeja offered brief resistance with a spirited partnership. The pair steadied the innings and shifted gears to add some respectability to the score.
Ferreira, in particular, showcased composure and attacking intent, bringing up a well-crafted half-century from just 31 deliveries. He handled spin with confidence and found boundaries with ease, giving Rajasthan a flicker of hope.
However, the mounting required rate proved too steep. Once Ferreira departed, Jadeja soon followed, and with that, any lingering hopes faded as Hyderabad tightened their grip.
Statement win for Hyderabad
This victory not only ended Rajasthan’s four-match winning run but also signalled a strong response from Sunrisers Hyderabad after recent setbacks. The emergence of Hinge and Sakib provides fresh energy and depth, offering plenty of encouragement for the matches ahead.
On a night filled with standout moments, it was the fearless brilliance of two debutants that stole the spotlight and reshaped the contest in emphatic fashion.
