With the rain holding off, day three of the County Championship delivered crucial momentum shifts, leaving teams either on the brink of victory or fighting hard to survive heading into the Bank Holiday finale.
Hampshire v Glamorgan
Hampshire started the day on 58-0, hoping to bat long and save the game. However, only Ben Mayes got past 50, scoring 59. Tom Prest made 45, while Nick Gubbins was out for 38, as Hampshire were bowled out for 214. Timm van der Gugten starred with the ball, taking 4-53, while Mason Crane chipped in with 3-31 and Zain ul-Hassan claimed 2-37.
As expected, Glamorgan asked Hampshire to bat again. Things started badly, with both Prest and Gubbins dismissed as the score slipped to 27. Toby Albert contributed 36, while Fletcha Middleton added 23, but Hampshire find themselves in trouble at 118-5, still needing 204 runs to make Glamorgan bat again.
Timm van der Gugten was in the wickets again, with 2-31. Mason Crane, Ryan Hadley and Jamie McIlroy have one apiece. Glamorgan will be looking to wrap the game early tomorrow.

Nottinghamshire will want to wrap this game up in the first session tomorrow, as they are in a very strong position going into day 4.
Leicestershire started the day on 220-8, hoping to avoid the follow-on. However, despite Stephen Eskinazi’s 100 and Ajaz Patel’s 62, they were bowled out for 308, still 182 runs behind. Olly Stone led the way with 5-68, while Dillon Pennington took 3-69.
Nottinghamshire enforced the follow-on, sending Leicestershire back out to bat. Rishi Patel (53) and Jake Weatherald (38) put on 99 for the first wicket, but regular wickets kept falling.
