Shree Charani exposes Pakistan’s tactical flaws in record-low T20I collapse

Shree Charani and the Indian spin attack dismissed Pakistan for a record-low 55 in Dubai, exposing severe tactical flaws in their opponents’ top-order technique.

Pakistan collapsed during the Women’s Asia Cup group stage, losing six wickets for just nine runs through the middle overs. The spectacular unravelling from a stable base of 27 without loss highlighted a persistent structural weakness on turning surfaces. Pakistan’s recurring inability to counter stump-to-stump deliveries demands urgent technical shifts ahead of a potential India vs Pakistan series.

Collapse Exposes Structural Flaws

Charani delivered a devastating spell to claim three wickets for seven runs. The 22-year-old removed Shawaal Zulfiqar and Gull Feroza in rapid succession, exploiting a pitch that rewarded basic accuracy. Prema Rawat matched her impact, taking three for nine as the batting lineup crumbled against relentless pressure.

Charani capitalised on the conditions by maintaining a strict line. “I just tried to bowl on the stumps. By seeing the pitch, we know it may turn so I just focused on that,” she said.

Urgent Tactical Reviews Required

The 55-run total stands as Pakistan’s lowest in T20I history. With recent administrative backlash already unsettling the national setup, this failure to navigate accurate spin bowling will force immediate technical reviews.

Explaining her personal approach, Charani added: “It’s just about myself. Like I just want to focus on my things… I want to do my things correct,”

India knocked off the 57-run target inside nine overs to seal a seven-wicket victory and advance to the semi-finals on 10 September.
