The Bangladesh Cricket Board has confirmed the West Indies will arrive in Dhaka on October 18 for a crucial two-match World Test Championship series.
The Caribbean side faces a strict acclimatisation window in Dhaka before the first Test begins at Mirpur on October 28. They will contest a single three-day warm-up match at the Bashundhara Sports Complex starting October 22. The tour then moves to the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium for the second Test from November 5.
World Test Championship Campaign
West Indies sit eighth in the 2025-2027 cycle standings after recording eight defeats and two draws from 12 matches. They urgently require away points to rescue their campaign but must overcome severe tactical hurdles on spin-friendly Bangladeshi pitches.
Bangladesh currently occupy fourth place in the nine-team table following a 2-0 home sweep over Pakistan and a recent drawn series in Australia. The hosts carry significant momentum and hold a clear advantage on familiar turning surfaces.
Following the Sylhet fixture, Bangladesh face a rapid five-day turnaround before travelling to Centurion for their opening Test against South Africa on November 15. The national team will later navigate an upcoming multi-format UAE tour against Afghanistan and Zimbabwe. This congested regional schedule also features Afghanistan’s historic Delhi T20I series against India.
