Former India fast bowler Zaheer Khan has acquired co-ownership of the Vancouver Anchors franchise ahead of the second Canada Super 60 season beginning this September.
Khan has partnered with Nagendra Siddoutam and Stockholm-based Anchor Sports AB to acquire the dual-gender franchise. The move reunites the World Cup winner with his former international teammate Yuvraj Singh, who operates as a co-owner of the T10 league.
While current domestic players focus on achievements like Tilak Varma’s Duleep marathon and selection for the India A squads against Australia A, former internationals are driving structural credibility in emerging North American leagues.
Canada Super 60 Expansion
The second season runs from September 29 to October 4, 2026, at BC Place in Vancouver. The tournament features six franchises competing across men’s and women’s divisions, with the recent draft securing international talent including Nicholas Pooran and Jonny Bairstow.
Speaking to CricTracker, Khan outlined his administrative ambitions for the Canadian tournament.
“Canada Super 60 is a first-class product, staged at one of the world’s most iconic venues, in a city with its own character and charm,” Khan stated.
Yuvraj added that Khan will elevate the league’s visibility and assist in developing female player pathways.
“Zaheer brings experience, energy, and drive to the league,” Yuvraj said.
The Vancouver Anchors will finalise their rosters before the six-team tournament commences on September 29.
