Gloucestershire announced yesterday that they have secured the services of seamer Henry Brookes for the next five County Championship games from Middlesex.

Career Stats

Brookes started his career with Warwickshire, making his red-ball debut against Essex in 2017, featuring in 33 FC matches before making the move to Middlesex in 2023, taking 33 FC wickets in 14 matches.

The 26-y-o will be available for selection for the Durham game, starting tomorrow, as well as fixtures against Lancashire, Northamptonshire and both home and away fixtures with Kent.

“Talented young fast bowler”

Gloucestershire’s Director of Cricket Jon Lewis said “We’re really pleased to bring Henry in on loan. Before the start of the season, we spoke a lot about using the loan market to supplement the bowlers we already have and help us through a busy Championship period. Henry will be with us until the start of the Vitality Blast, and we’re delighted to have him on board.

“I’ve known Henry for a long time. He’s an incredibly talented young fast bowler who I’ve worked with at England Under-19s and England Lions level. Just as importantly, we know we’re getting a top person as well as a top player, which matters a lot to us as a group. We’re excited to see what he can add to the squad.”
