There are appears to be tension in the Mumbai Indians dressing room, after footage of Captain Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah emerged on X last night.

The video shows Pandya and Bumrah disagreeing over fielding positions. Bumrah clearly apologises, while making his disappointment known. It seems to have continued after the game. The video is in this tweet below:

Jasprit Bumrah still doesn’t have a wicket, which may be of concern to the Mumbai Indians, and the fact that after winning their first game, they have lost the last four, there is something amiss with the team.

Another video has emerged showing how frustrated Bumrah is after going wicketless again:

IPL so far

The Mumbai Indians won their first game against Kolkata Knight Riders convincingly. They chased down 220 with six wickets in hand and five balls to spare.

Since then, they only scored 162 against Delhi Capitals, losing by six wickets. Then in a rain affected match, they scored 123 chasing 150 against Rajasthan Royals. Royal Challengers Bengaluru scored 240 against them, and Mumbai lost by 18 runs.

In yesterday’s game with Punjab Super Kings, Mumbai batted first and got 195-6. However, Punjab ran out victors with seven wickets in hand and 3.3 overs to go, which is not a good look for their bowling attack.

Their bowling unit has only taken 18 wickets in five games so far, by far the lowest of any team. The next fewest is Delhi Capitals with 22 wickets, but they have only played four games.

Tough decisions

After the match, Pandya said that MI must analyse where the issues lie – in individual performances, team planning, or just poor execution. He also said that the team may need to make some tough decisions moving forward. What those decision will be, only time will tell, but something has to change and quick for the Mumbai Indians.
