There were four notable innings at the Oval. For Surrey, Dom Sibley scored 187, bringing up 10,000 first-class runs in the process. The other Surrey innings, arguably even more impressive, came from 19-year-old Adam Thomas, who made 120 on debut against Sussex.
In Sussex’s first innings, with the side struggling at 167-8, Jack Carson, who made 105 from number 9, and captain Ollie Robinson, who finished on 100 not out from number 10, combined to lift the total past 350.
