A three-match ODI series between Pakistan and Australia is scheduled to begin later this month. The matches will take place in Rawalpindi and Lahore.

Prior to the opening ODI at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on May 30, Australia are expected to arrive in Islamabad on May 23. After that, on June 2 and June 4, respectively, the series will travel to Gaddafi Stadium for the second and third ODIs.

The tour is Australia’s first bilateral ODI series in Pakistan since the Asian team’s 2-1 victory during their visit in March and April of 2022. Australia’s three-match T20I series against Pakistan earlier this year ended in a 3-0 whitewash in Lahore. The toss is scheduled for 4:00 pm local time, and all matches are scheduled to start at 4:30 pm.

Meanwhile, Pakistan recently suffered a frustrating 2-1 loss in the ODI series in Bangladesh. After the PSL 2026, they will travel to Bangladesh once again for a two-Test series before taking on Australia.

Australia Begin ODI World Cup Build-Up Amid IPL Commitments

Australia, the regaining champions of ICC Men’s ODI World Cup winners, last participated in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2025 on February 22 at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, where they defeated England by five wickets.

The series gives both teams a chance to improve combinations and gain momentum in the 50-over format as the next ODI World Cup is set for next year.

Several top players, including captain Pat Cummins, will be missing from Australia for the start of the series. Players are permitted by Cricket Australia to fulfill their IPL 2026 obligations before joining the national team.

Australia has not yet selected a team for the next away series, but they want to do so without including any Australians who are expected to participate in the IPL 2026 finals. Cameron Green and Travis Head are also probably going to get some rest.

On June 9, Australia will play three ODIs in Dhaka, followed by three T20Is in Chattogram as part of a subcontinental tour that will last less than a fortnight.
