India will be aiming to add the T20 World Cup trophy to the 50-over World Cup title they won last year. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur will be hoping her side can go one step further than in the 2020 final, where they suffered an 85-run defeat to Australia.

Squad List

India have selected a balanced squad featuring a mix of experienced players and fresh faces. Bharti Fulmali, Nandani Sharma, Shree Charani, and Kranti Gaud are all set to make their tournament debuts.

Despite the inclusion of several newcomers, the squad still boasts plenty of experience, with the players collectively owning more than 1,000 international caps. Among the debutants, Nandani Sharma is also in line to make her India debut.

Prediction

India face a challenging group stage, but as the world’s third-ranked side, they have the quality and depth to reach the semi-finals.

While Australia women’s are favourites to top the group, India will back themselves to finish second despite strong competition from South Africa, who reached the finals of the last two ICC tournaments.

With a balanced squad that blends experience and emerging talent, India will be hopeful of putting together a strong campaign and taking another step towards ending their wait for a major ICC trophy.
