  • Six time champions and favourites
  • Surprise inclusion of Hamilton over Brown
  • Molineux fit to led the team

The Number one team in the World, Australia will be looking to add to their six previous T20 titles. The recent news that captain Sophie Molineux is fit and will lead the team will give them a boost.

Squad List

This Australian team has plenty of experienced players, with Ellyse Perry having played in every T20 World Cup since its inception in 2009. The big surprise in the squad is the inclusion of left arm seamer Lucy Hamilton over the more experienced pace bowler Darcie Brown.

Prediction

Australia face a difficult start to the group stage against South Africa before closing out their campaign with a heavyweight clash against India. Even so, they should still reach the semi-finals comfortably and are strong favourites to top the group.

Given the depth of experience throughout the squad, it is easy to understand why Australia are the bookmakers’ favourites to win the tournament.
