- RCB unlikely to hold Bengaluru victory parade.
- IPL 2025 stampede tragedy remains a key factor.
- Police advised fans against public road celebrations.
Following their successful IPL 2026 championship defense, Royal Challengers Bengaluru are unlikely to have a victory parade in Bengaluru, according to reports.
In the IPL final on Sunday, RCB defeated Gujarat Titans by five wickets to claim their second straight championship. However, due to security concerns and current police regulations, the franchise has chosen not to have public celebrations in the city.
The decision was made over a year after 11 people were killed in a stampede at M Chinnaswamy Stadium during the festivities that followed RCB’s first IPL title victory. The Karnataka government and courts interfered as a result of the occurrence, which caused significant outrage.
Reports indicate that the decision was also influenced by the swearing-in ceremony of D.K. Shivakumar, Karnataka’s newly appointed chief minister. Authorities expect the event at Lok Bhavan to attract a large crowd and will deploy a significant police presence to manage it.

RCB title celebration plans hit roadblock
Authorities will maintain heightened security measures around the Governor’s mansion, which is located near the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
“It is highly unlikely that there will be any activities in Bengaluru. There are certain guidelines in place, and we need to stick to them,” an RCB source told PTI.
As a result of the RCB victory, the Bengaluru Police previously issued an advisory urging the public not to celebrate on the roads, burst crackers, or engage in any activities that disturb public order.
“We have issued an advisory asking fans not to celebrate publicly on the streets and especially not to disturb peace and security. We will not allow any public celebrations. If anyone wants to celebrate, they can do it indoors,” Bengaluru City Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh had said.

Players head for national duties
Additionally, several RCB players will be leaving for international assignments for security reasons. Prior to the one-time Test match against Afghanistan, Devdutt Padikkal is anticipated to join the Indian Test team. Meanwhile, international players Josh Hazlewood, Tim David, Jacob Duffy, and Romario Shepherd have national team duties.
Despite being just the third team in IPL history to successfully defend the trophy, RCB’s victory celebrations are currently anticipated to be low-key.
