Rita Ora and Clean Bandit have been confirmed for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup final at Lord’s, adding another major entertainment layer to Sunday’s sold-out showpiece.
The ICC announced on Thursday that Ora will headline the pre-match closing ceremony, which starts at 14:30 local time, before Clean Bandit perform after the new champions are crowned. Spectators have been asked to be seated by 14:00.
It gives the final a commercial and cultural frame as well as a cricketing one. Australia are already through after easing past West Indies, while England and South Africa meet at The Oval to decide the second finalist. ReadCricket has already covered Australia’s unbeaten run into the final.
Lord’s gets a bigger stage
The ICC described the line-up as part of a record-breaking tournament, with the governing body explicitly positioning music and sport together at the Home of Cricket. The event also follows a high-profile opening ceremony featuring the West End cast of Wicked.
For women’s cricket, that matters. A capacity Lord’s crowd, a global pop billing and a final involving Australia or the hosts would give the tournament its clearest crossover moment of the summer. It also underlines how aggressively the ICC is now packaging marquee women’s fixtures for broadcast, ticketing and casual audiences.
