India off-spinner Deepti Sharma has climbed two places to sixth position in the ICC Women’s T20I bowling rankings following her productive group-stage campaign at the ongoing Asia Cup.
The right-arm bowler took eight wickets across three matches to help her side reach the semi-finals. Teammate Sree Charani retains the top ranking, creating a dual spin threat that restricts opposition scoring rates on turning pitches.
Sharma previously held the number one position in December 2025. She now sits within 60 rating points of Charani, with Sophie Ecclestone, Charlie Dean, Nonkululeko Mlaba and Lauren Bell separating the two Indian stars.
Asia Cup Movers Advance
Other international attacks are finding success in the tournament, with Bangladesh relying heavily on spin as Marufa Akter jumped 19 places to 18th in the latest update.
Chamari Athapaththu rose five spots to equal 28th, while Sultana Khatun gained nine places to share 37th following their performances in the continental event.
Dean also improved her standing in the ODI formats following England’s series victory over Ireland. The stand-in captain moved to joint ninth among all-rounders and joint 11th in the bowling list.
Lauren Filer jumped 14 places to 39th, and Ireland batter Amy Hunter climbed nine spots to 11th. The ICC update arrives as the game’s reach expands, highlighted by fresh broadcasting agreements for historic T20I fixtures later this season.
India contest their Women’s Asia Cup semi-final on Friday.
