Seam Attack Dismantles Delhi in Stunning Collapse

On a pitch offering movement and bounce, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood produced a devastating new ball spell that left Delhi in ruins.

Delhi Capitals crashed to 8 for 6 inside three overs and stumbled to 13 for 6 in the powerplay, the lowest six over score in a full IPL innings.

Bhuvneshwar struck immediately, removing debutant Sahil Parakh for a two ball duck with a perfect outswinger followed by a sharp inswinging yorker. Hazlewood then ripped through the middle, dismissing KL Rahul and Sameer Rizvi in the same over.

With slips in place and pressure mounting, wickets kept falling. Axar Patel and Tristan Stubbs departed quickly, and when Nitish Rana fell to a steep rising delivery, Delhi were staring at a historic collapse.

Hazlewood finished with 4 for 12 while Bhuvneshwar returned 3 for 5 in a remarkable opening spell that defined the match.

Porel Effort Helps Delhi Reach 75

A complete collapse was briefly halted by Abhishek Porel, who anchored a small recovery. A dust interruption allowed Delhi to regroup before Porel and David Miller added 35 runs for the seventh wicket.

Porel top scored with 30 off 33 balls while Miller made 19 from 18. A lone six from Kyle Jamieson added some resistance, but Delhi were eventually bowled out for 75 in 14.5 overs.

Porel was the only batter to cross 20, ensuring Delhi avoided the lowest total in IPL history.

Kohli Seals Record Breaking Win for RCB

The chase was swift and emphatic. Jacob Bethell struck 20 off 11 balls and Devdutt Padikkal surged to 34 not out, putting Bengaluru firmly in control.

Virat Kohli provided the finishing touch, smashing consecutive sixes off T Natarajan to seal the victory. In doing so, he became the first player to reach 9000 IPL runs.

Bengaluru raced to 77 for 1 in 6.3 overs, completing the chase with 81 balls to spare in one of the most dominant wins of IPL 2026.

Statement Win Boosts RCB Campaign

The emphatic victory lifts Royal Challengers Bengaluru closer to the top of the table and significantly improves their net run rate.

It was a night defined by precision bowling and fearless execution. Delhi endured a collapse to forget, while Bengaluru sent a clear message to the rest of the league.
