Mohammad Amir has given Notts Outlaws a late Blast recruitment win after agreeing a short-term deal for the remainder of the 2026 Vitality Blast.
The club confirmed the former Pakistan left-armer has joined as a domestic player, with his British passport meaning he will not take an overseas slot for the rest of his stay at Trent Bridge.
Welcome, Mohammad Amir! The fast bowler joins us as a domestic player until the end of our 2026 Vitality Blast campaign.

Why Amir changes the Notts equation
Amir, 34, brings 425 career T20 wickets at 22.63 and an economy rate of 7.36, numbers that still matter in a compressed group stage where one death-over spell can tilt qualification. Nottinghamshire said the deal covers any knockout matches if the Outlaws get there.
The timing is useful. Notts had won three straight games before the move and sat second in the six-team North Group, where the top two are guaranteed a quarter-final place. Amir is available immediately for the trip to Kent Spitfires, a fixture already under the spotlight on ReadCricket’s T20 Blast coverage.
Peter Moores framed the signing around phase bowling rather than reputation, highlighting Amir’s value with the new ball and at the end of an innings. That is the real edge: Notts have added a left-arm option with global tournament experience while keeping their overseas balance intact.
Amir’s English record also gives the move substance. He won the 2019 Blast with Essex and was part of the Oval Invincibles squad that lifted The Hundred in 2024, adding domestic know-how to a resume already shaped by Pakistan’s 2009 T20 World Cup and 2017 Champions Trophy wins.
