India Occupy Visiting Dressing Room For Afghanistan Series

The Indian men’s cricket team will occupy the visiting dressing room at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium during their three-match T20I series against Afghanistan beginning on September 13.

The Afghanistan Cricket Board holds official host status for the bilateral fixtures. This unprecedented administrative arrangement forces India out of the home Raman Lamba facility.

Afghanistan players will use the familiar home dressing room throughout the series. India must operate from the Prakash Bhandari away room.

The logistical anomaly follows the ACB’s established practice of staging home international obligations at partner venues abroad.

These administrative complexities mirror wider calendar adjustments across the sport, recently seen affecting the West Indies cricket schedule.

Bumrah Returns For Delhi Fixtures

Ibrahim Zadran will make his debut as Afghanistan T20I captain during the opening fixture. Fast bowler Naveen-ul-Haq returns to the squad for his first appearance since December 2024.

Veteran all-rounder Mohammad Nabi also rejoins the squad alongside Nangeyalia Kharoti.

Indian medical staff have declared premier fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah fully fit for the upcoming campaign.

Wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan joins the home squad immediately following his Duleep Trophy triumph with East Zone.

India have lost Harshit Rana to injury. Yash Thakur has been drafted as his bowling replacement.

Nitish Kumar Reddy and Washington Sundar have both received medical clearance to play.

The three-match series concludes in Delhi on September 17.
