World Championship Of Legends Confirms India Pakistan Dubai Fixture After 2025 Boycott

The World Championship of Legends has relocated its 2026 tournament to the United Arab Emirates, scheduling a high-risk group fixture between India Champions and Pakistan Champions on October 10.

Organisers have shifted the October 3 to 18 competition from the UK to Dubai and Sharjah, expanding to a seven-team format with Bangladesh Champions joining the roster.

David Warner will debut for Australia Champions this season, bringing his aggressive profile to a squad competing against returning tournament figures Yuvraj Singh and Shahid Afridi.

Geopolitical Tensions Cloud Dubai Fixture

The Dubai International Cricket Stadium meeting carries significant operational risk following last season’s diplomatic fallout.

India Champions players refused to participate in two scheduled fixtures against Pakistan during the 2025 edition in England, citing heightened political tensions.

While national selectors currently monitor an Ishan Kishan lower-back injury ahead of bilateral commitments, this veteran franchise tournament operates entirely outside standard board agreements.

The 2025 semi-final was abandoned completely when Indian players withdrew, allowing Pakistan Champions to advance without taking the field.

Broadcasters are banking on the commercial appeal of the region, aiming for the kind of sweeping local engagement that helped Ajay Sharma secure a maiden Ranji Trophy title for Jammu and Kashmir.

Organisers have yet to confirm if player participation is formally guaranteed, leaving the evening clash under threat of another late cancellation.

India Champions will open the tournament against Australia Champions in Sharjah on October 3.
